Perdomo began in August 1992, when Nick Perdomo Jr. and his father, Nick Sr., started Nick's Cigar Company in the Miami area. The family's cigar roots go back further, to Nick's grandfather Silvio Perdomo, who worked at famous factories in Cuba, including H. Upmann and Partagás.

In 1995 the company moved production to Nicaragua. Over the years Tabacalera Perdomo grew into a fully integrated operation, with its own farms in the Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa valleys and its own factory in Estelí, so the family controls tobacco from seed to finished cigar. That control shows in one of its signatures: aging wrapper leaf in bourbon barrels before rolling.

Perdomo's best-known lines come in three wrapper choices, Connecticut, Sun Grown, and Maduro, so you can stay with one blend and explore how the wrapper changes it. The Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne is a smooth, creamy favorite with newer smokers, while the 20th Anniversary Sun Grown, made with tobacco aged at least eight years, is fuller and earthier. The house style is smooth, well-aged Nicaraguan tobacco with an easy, welcoming character.
